Perfect for our needs
"The wooden version we chose is only nineteen inches high and that is perfect to keep our 15 lb doxie out of the hallway and denies him access to all the bedrooms the hall opens to without blocking humans from easily stepping over it and proceeding down hall. I was fully expecting to have to run to the hardware store and get longer screws based on helpful reviews left before mine, but was delighted to find it was fine right out of the package. Strangely, I didn't have to put it together so perhaps it was a return? Not complaining, It's nice, looks upscale, works well, and was the cheapest I could find that was also short enough for us to step over without dislocating a hip. I'm only 45 but how quickly the body begins to inform you it's time to live smarter and make good choices. Could your dog knock this over if really excited? Surely, but as a visual deterrent for a dog who won't challenge it, it's perfect, and has a good enough weight to it that it won't be falling over with smaller knocks into it. Our dachshund hasn't jumped up on it yet so so far, so good."
